Using a 7 mm crochet hook, this project works up quickly, making it perfect for using up your scrap yarn stash while creating unique piece!

This pattern is provided in English and uses American crochet shorthand/abbreviations. This document spans 22 pages and includes instructive images to further help you pursuit your goal result.

Recommended Skill Level: Advanced Beginner and above.

Pattern uses following crochet stitches: single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc).

 

CONSTRUCTION OF THE SWEATER

The pattern is worked from the top down in a raglan style and constructed as one piece. You’ll begin by working the neckline edge. From there, four increase points are created to shape the sleeves and body evenly. As you continue, these increases are repeated until the required bust measurement is reached and the yoke is fully formed.

After the desired width is achieved, the sleeves are separated from the body so each section can be worked individually. The body is continued first to your preferred length, then the sleeves are completed one by one, continuing in the same stitch pattern.

To complete the sweater, you can add edging to the bottom hem and sleeves. For the sleeves, you can create a balloon effect by decreasing a few stitches, or leave the edge flat for a clean, polished finish.

 

MATERIALS:

• CROCHET HOOK: 7 mm for the body and the sleeves / 5,5 mm for the neckline and flat edges
• YARN: any (up to Medium no. 4) for the body and the sleeves, compatible with 5,5 mm crochet hook for the neckline and flat edges
• SCISSORS
• TAPE MEASURE
• STITCH MARKERS
• TAPESTRY NEEDLE (for weaving in ends)

 

YARN RECOMMENDATIONS

• You can use any yarn of your choice, such as cotton, wool or acrylic,
• For a delicate, lightweight sweater, I recommend using only Lace (no. 0), Super Fine (no. 1) or Fine (no. 2) weight yarn for whole sweater,
• To ensure compatibility with the 7 mm crochet hook used in this design, I suggest choosing a yarn no heavier than Medium (no. 4) weight.
• You can mix different yarn weights, but I highly recommend staying within Medium (no. 4) weight or lighter to ensure the best compatibility with the 7 mm crochet hook and to maintain the intended look of the design.

 

( e.g. To make orange/brown sample sweater I’ve used approx. 800 m of yarn with 7 mm crochet hook and single strand of Fine weight (no. 2) yarn: NAKO Peru Color in shade 32188. To make a biege/pink sample sweater I’ve used approx. 800 m of yarn with 7 mm crochet hook and single strand of Fine weight yarn (no. 1): Alize 3 Seasons in shade 67.)
