CONSTRUCTION OF THE PONCHO
The Mesh Me Up Poncho is constructed as one piece, with a square shape (equal width and length) and a boat neckline in the center. It’s worked from the bottom-up, forming two body panels – the front and back. You’ll begin by 4 crocheting the front body panel, which is identical in construction to the back. Once you reach the midpoint of the poncho, the neckline is shaped in
the center, then the back body panel is worked continuously.
Once both body panels (main piece) are complete, tassel openings are created along the first and last rows of the poncho. Along the sides, turning chains are used as openings.
To complete the poncho, add tassels (fringe) – by attaching them to the created tassel openings and turning chains along the edges of the poncho. Attach from the wrong side (WS) to maintain a clean and polished look on the right side (RS).
